Base salary will be in the range $66,262.71 - $72,935.82+ 17% Superannuation for continuing or $43.79 - $48.2 hourly + 12% Superannuation for casual (HEW Level 3)
Based at Gatton Campus
We are seeking a few dedicated Dairy Farm Attendants to support the day-to-day operations of our dairy facility. This hands-on role involves caring for livestock, maintaining farm infrastructure, and contributing to both teaching and research activities. The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring the smooth running of the farm while supporting the delivery of high-quality practical learning experiences and research outcomes.
Key responsibilities will include:
Support daily animal husbandry operations, including livestock care and milking.
Maintain farm infrastructure and equipment used in dairy production and pasture management.
Assist in the delivery of teaching and research activities through technical and logistical support.

Knowledge of all aspects of dairy farming including husbandry, breeding, nutrition, health, and behaviour of dairy cattle.
Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of dairy equipment, fences and related infrastructure necessary for livestock management and fodder production.
Effective communication skills that will enable you to liaise with a variety of university staff, students and clients.
Current driver’s license
Basic computer proficiency using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Heavy rigid license and blue card desirable but not essential.
Availability to work on weekends.
Ideally, you will also bring:
(1) certificate of competency in artificial insemination;
(2) certificate of competency in the operation of a front-end loader; and
(3) ChemCert accreditation in Agriculture and Veterinary Chemicals; and
(4) a Commercial Operators license issued under the ACDC Act.
However, if you don’t already have these, we’ll work with you to obtain them within 3 months of your start date.
Additionally, it is a condition of employment for this role that you will be required to be immunised against certain vaccine preventable diseases (Q-Fever and Tetanus).
The successful candidate may be required to complete background checks including right to work in Australia.
You must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply. Employer sponsored work rights are not available for this appointment.
