About the Role

We have a great opportunity for experienced and dedicated candidates to come on the journey with us as we continue to grow and enhance our training business while also actively pursuing their own professional development goals as a Full-time member of the Training Team at our Brisbane Pet Hotel in Eagle Farm.

Hanrob Dog Trainers are responsible for providing brand consistency, delivering all program offerings, and maintaining operational standards within the Pet Hotel. The Dog Trainers play an important role in our facility, as they are accountable for consistently achieving quality dog training outcomes whilst educating and engaging pet owners.

You must be committed to and show a genuine interest in enhancing communication and teamwork between dogs and owners by offering positive solutions and rewarding success while providing a fun and safe environment. Providing owners with exceptional Dog Training instruction and customer service by acting as a subject matter expert for Hanrob’s Training Program, products, and services is essential, helping them strengthen their bond through fun and educational dog training.

This role is responsible for the following:


  • Working across Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday, as needed (38 hours per week)


  • Educating dog owners to successfully maintain our training schedule to ensure ongoing success in the home environment.

  • Building and maintaining client relationships.

About You

As a Hanrob Dog Trainer, you will have 2-4 years of practical experience in a wide variety of dog training techniques and equipment. You will need to be a results-driven individual who has exceptional customer skills and:


  • Proven experience as a professional group/puppy class instructor/trainer (minimum 2-4 years)


  • Has completed/studying an accredited Dog Training or related Qualifications (e.g. Cert IV in Animal Behaviour & Training).

  • Has the desire to develop your skills to become a professional dog trainer with Hanrob.

  • Is highly motivated by providing solutions, dog training skills/techniques with superior customer service to dog owners.

  • Is highly skilled to communicate to owners the benefit of training and acquire the dog to participate in our training programs.


  • Responds well to demands on your time and work effectively without direct supervision.

  • Is motivated by the opportunity to present your ideas and suggestions and are encouraged by the opportunity to work in a team environment.

  • Demonstrates a positive, open-minded attitude.

  • Has the ability to make objective decisions to achieve positive outcomes.

  • Has administration skills and experience to maintain training records.

  • Demonstrates clear and concise communication skills.

  • Holds a current driver’s licence and your own car to get to/from work (Public Transport does not service our facility).

  • Has unrestricted work rights in Australia and be able to provide evidence of this.

IMPORTANT: This is an active and physical role working across the Pet Hotel. The incumbent will be required to work indoors and outdoors (sometimes in inclement weather conditions, and in close proximity to dogs and cats, on their feet for the majority of their day. They are required to enter noisy environments that house high numbers of dogs to retrieve dogs and lead them to the separate training yards for training, as well as deliver verbal training to dogs and their owners, sometimes over the sound of the barking dogs which requires occasional raising of voice to be heard. On occasions when mentoring or training work placement students and other team members in dog training/handling techniques, the incumbent may be required to converse and speak for between 2-5 hours per day, with regular breaks and interaction with others. They must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, carry, push, pull, bend, crouch, kneel, squat, reach, stretch, and restrain animals (up to 50kg) on leads in order to perform the inherent requirements of the role.
